The spirits

The spirits are dark and faceless, about eight feet tall, in smoky cloaks, floating a foot off the ground. They're faster than balls.

They come through tears in the world, and they phase in and out of it while a tear is unstable. That's their weakness.

They lift their victims and drop them, and they claw at them. Distant laughter comes with them.

At Lucky Lantern Park, Gasket's Hoard Mode pulled them in to his body and crushed them in the tear. In the Founders' Ruins, they came again, through a far larger breach.
