Meet the Team
Ten balls, zero through nine. Read below in order — Zero's story only makes sense once you've met the other nine.
Zero
Still Figuring It Out
Zero
“His code isn't missing. It's locked for a reason.”
Every ball is born with a four-digit code that unlocks their perfect sphere — everyone finds theirs eventually. Zero, the youngest of the ten, never has. He's guessed at his more times than he'd like to admit, and every wrong guess has left him a little more bruised and a lot more afraid to try again. What nobody's figured out yet: his code isn't missing. It's locked for a reason.
Ace
The Leader
Ace
“"Form up!" It's not just a habit. It's a ritual.”
Ace is the strongest ball in the realm and the first to admit it. Bright red, first in line, first to fight — he wakes the team, keeps the schedule, and holds the line after everyone else has fallen. Every morning before the chamber, he calls out "Form up!" For Zero, it's always been a painful reminder of what he can't do yet.
Sly
The Genius
Sly
“"Focus. Think. Try again."”
Sly is the smartest ball in the realm, and she doesn't flaunt it — she weaponizes it. Sleek, silver, and impossible to ignore, she finishes your sentence, corrects your grammar, and recalculates your odds before you've taken a breath. She pushes Zero harder than anyone, because she sees potential in him he doesn't see in himself.
Torque
The Agent
Torque
“"Something's wrong. I heard... something."”
Torque is the quietest ball in the realm, and the most dangerous in his own way. He doesn't fight, doesn't shout, doesn't stand in the spotlight — he blends into backgrounds, slips past cameras, and hears everything. He trusts almost no one except Ace, and when he says something's wrong, the team already knows to listen.
Lucky
The Lucky One
Lucky
“"Relax. I've got a feeling."”
Lucky is the ball everyone wants around — bright gold, warm, cheerful, and probability just seems to bend around him. He doesn't control it, doesn't understand it, he's just lucky: dodging danger, pulling teammates out of harm's way at the exact right second, winning any wager he touches. He's been banned from every casino in the realm. Not for cheating. For existing.
Glimmer
The Diva
Glimmer
“"Sweetie, you're doing it wrong. Let me fix you."”
Glimmer is the ball who turns heads the moment she rolls into a room — glossy pink, perfect shine, a smile that could melt steel. She's not academically smart like Sly, not stealthy like Torque, not lucky like Lucky, not strong like Ace, but she understands status, beauty, and social power better than anyone in the realm. Beneath the glamour is a razor-sharp instinct for survival.
Scout
The Boy Scout
Scout
“"Don't worry. I've got a plan."”
Scout is the ball who always shows up prepared — forest green, bright-eyed, and covered in badges earned through relentless effort and a genuine desire to help. His superpower isn't magic, it's preparation: reach into his pack in any crisis and he'll pull out the exact tool the moment needs. He's the emotional glue of the team, and the quiet hero nobody notices until the weld holds.
Nova
The Sci-Fi Nerd
Nova
“"I heard something. Something bad."”
Nova is cosmic purple, radiant, and always mid-adventure — certain the draw chamber is a wormhole, and not entirely wrong. She can hear what no one else can: whispers from outside the realm, tremors of the breach before it forms, fear rising in the realm long before anyone sees it coming. She's always the first to know something's wrong. She's always right.
Gasket
The Hoarder
Gasket
“He's not hoarding. He's holding on.”
Gasket is teal, a little chubby, and always carrying something — a trinket, a bolt, a piece of wire, anything he's afraid of losing. Everyone knows he hoards. Nobody minds. When the spirits swarmed Ace during the very first attack, Ace screamed "HOARD!" and Gasket became a rolling, sticky force of nature that absorbed every last one of them — the team's first victory, and his, even if he still doesn't quite believe it.
Captain
The Pirate
Captain
“"One day, I'll sail the open seas. Mark me words."”
Captain refuses to be called "Nine." Black with crimson accents, tiny pirate hat, swaggering like he owns the underbelly of the realm — he deals in secrets, treasure, and favors nobody else will touch. He pretends he's only in it for himself. He isn't.
